Dear Thalamus Users,
We hope you are all enjoying your weekend, and that this first portion of the residency application and interview process continues to go well. We remain privileged and humbled regarding the support and trust you put into Thalamus for recruitment season. As the majority of our team are former applicants, program coordinators, program coordinators, and GME administrators we know first-hand the array of emotions that accompany the Match, and are always here to support you throughout the process.
We are writing to announce some exciting updates to the Thalamus platform, that will go live during an update to Thalamus overnight Mon 11/9 from 4:30am to 6:00am ET. This will be a brief scheduled maintenance period for which our services will be unavailable.
Updates for programs:
- Enhanced user interface/design for the Thalamus Video Chat and Master View Screen.
- New video chat notifications and enhanced screen sharing capabilities.
Updates for applicants:
- Enhanced user interface/design for the Thalamus Video Chat.
- New video chat notifications and enhanced screen sharing capabilities.
- Significant performance improvements on the applicant calendar.
Thalamus has now scheduled over 100,000 interviews this season. With several specialties approaching their common release interview dates over the coming weeks, our engineering and operations teams have included significant performance enhancements to the applicant calendar to further streamline interview scheduling. Now, when applicants login through the web application, they will immediately be brought to the calendar to aid in expedited and optimized scheduling of interviews, as we know this is the core and most time-sensitive component of our platform.
To this end, we have temporarily disabled the “Dashboard” for applicant users, as it undergoes several enhancements based on your user feedback. It will be re-released in its updated form shortly. We apologize for any inconvenience this may pose, but all features on the dashboard are available in several other places throughout the application. We are excited to bring you the updated version of the dashboard soon.
Additionally, we want to continue to assure everyone, that while we are dealing with unprecedented demand and usage of Thalamus during these unique times, the software has been performance and load tested to ensure our site is scalable and functional to accommodate every single person in GME on our system at once. Thalamus has and will always continue to be developed and innovated to solve the distinctive challenges that exist in GME recruitment and we are very excited about where the future of the software is headed.
