Thalamus.Org Names Jamie Thayer Scates as First CEO to Expand Scholarships and Programs to Strengthen US Physician Workforce

[Nashville, TN, March 19, 2025] – Thalamus.Org, a 501c3 nonprofit organization, proudly announced today the appointment of Jamie Thayer Scates as its first Chief Executive Officer. The nonprofit, closely affiliated with Thalamus, the premier interview management platform specifically designed for application to graduate medical education training programs, is dedicated to expanding the physician workforce by making the residency application and interview process affordable and accessible for all medical students.
Jamie brings over two decades of leadership experience in nonprofit and academic medicine, most recently serving as the long-time CEO of the American Medical Student Association (AMSA) and AMSA Foundation. Under her leadership, AMSA experienced a transformative financial turnaround, expanded domestic medical student membership by 250% after launching an institutional partnership program, and secured over $3.5 million in grant funding to support medical students. Her extensive expertise in strategic planning, fundraising, and partnerships uniquely positions her to lead Thalamus.Org into its next phase of impact and growth.
